Chronic Culture Launches Membership Events

San Francisco comes alive with dynamic conversation and the best smoke around, all at a spot that’s so focused on weed culture, it’s in the name.

Chronic Culture is an SF establishment that provides a haven for cannabis brands, industry workers, and our rich, diverse weed scene. This year they’re starting a series of events aimed at giving members access to some of the best minds in the California Cannabis Industry.

To launch these “Live Sessions” events, they’ve invited brands from all over the state and the country to come to the table and have an open, honest discussion with the crowd about a host of engaging topics.

Moderated by founder Neil Dellacava, these are a chance to talk with different cultivators, extractors, and hashmakers about everything from new strains to issues in our local and state systems.

Before and after, attendees can meet the brands face-to-face in the other room and really get to know the faces that are making this weed and putting their lives on the financial line to keep providing Cannabis that’s been grown by people who smoke it, enjoy it and care about its livelihood.

This first evening they featured a Hash brand that recently expanded into Oregon and a group of local cultivators whose brand has been at the top of its game these last few years. Together they discussed the similarities and differences in their fan bases and even discovered ways they could benefit from each other.

Steve and Adam, both from Sense in San Francisco, discussed how many of the strains they’ve had to retire have been due to the growing demand consumers have developed for THC percentage. Being a brand with limited cultivation space, they feel like they’ve seen too many strains blow away judges and critics alike, only to be abandoned by the retail crowd and pushed towards obscurity. As an example, they cited their Pink Certz which won first at Transbay Challenge and High Times Competition in 2022 but never caught on with consumers due to having less than 30% THC.

Marc from Kalya pointed out how the battle for him is a little different. The Rosin clientele often shops before they walk into a dispensary and their neverending search is for new flavors instead of THC content. At a time when most of the rosins on the shelf are cold cure, Kalya’s choice to focus on fresh press has brought its own set of unique challenges. Marc discussed the uphill battle of getting retailers to secure freezers to store the product before he can convince them to bring it in and what it’s like taking that fight to a new state with its own unique regulations and customer mindset.

Talks like this are something you usually see on a podcast or live stream, and even though Chronic Culture records these events for their Youtube channel, the night is set up like a discussion in the living room. Dellacava wants the crowd to feel comfortable asking questions and letting the conversation grow organically instead of trying to stick to a predetermined format. However, they do aim at capping these talks at around 30 minutes each.

As Chronic Culture brings in more of these discussions, there will no doubt be an incredible chance to share meaningful thoughts with some of the community’s best voices. If you aren’t a member, check out what joining Chronic Culture can do for you, but we’ve also been told you can purchase a nightly membership that will get you access to the Live Session events.
