In this series, we catch up with the woman who’s always on the go and ask her 5 questions about different strains, subjects, or questions submitted by our readers. This month we asked her about a CAMster favorite and one of Jimi Devine’s strains of 2022…
Lemon Cherry Gelato
One of the most popular strains on the California recreational market this year was Lemon Cherry Gelato. A cross of Sunset Sherbert and Girl Scout Cookies, the strong aroma, bold flavor, and eye-popping nugs put this all over the map and saw many brands trying to create their own twist with White LCG, Tropical LCG, and an ocean of other prefixes.
CAM was no exception, dropping a Lemon Cherry Gelato and getting a great reception from the fans. With so many versions on the town and CAMs being so popular, we thought we’d catch up with Anna to ask why she chose to cultivate this big star.
Who first turned you onto Lemon Cherry Gelato?
A: Juan from Backpack Boyz.
What about this strain made it such a popular choice last year?
A: I’m actually surprised it’s been so popular amongst growers since it doesn’t yield well and is very finicky to grow. It does test well, and the strain smells and tastes great, but with many of these, it goes back to how coveted it was on the black market first.
Why do you like growing it?
A: Because people love it, and my CAMsters deserve the best! We try to listen to what our fans want to see and bring it in when we can.
Is there something that you feel sets CAM’s Lemon Cherry Gelato apart, or is it true to the original?
A: The one we are running right now is, I think, as close to the original as I’ve ever smoked.
Are you working on any in-house crosses with LCG?
A: We’re actually working on a bunch of LCG and Runtz crosses. Now that the new facility is going, we’ll have the room to bring some out in exclusive batches.
